DPRO Subodh Joshi has suspended Gram Panchayat Officer Anuruddha Kumar on various charges, including the fact that the Gram Panchayat building is being constructed in Isunda Gram Panchayat of Hathras, despite the village secretariat being run by the head of her husband’s brother’s house against the rules. After the inspection of the said Gram Panchayat, the case of indecency and threat from the DPRO in the name of Union Minister SP Baghel was in the headlines.
DPRO Subodh Joshi has said that during the inspection, even after the Panchayat building was constructed in the Gram Panchayat, the Village Secretariat was being run from the house of the Pradhan’s husband’s brother in an illegal manner with the connivance of the Pradhan. Gram Panchayat records were not presented for testing. The financial progress till the date of inspection against the funds made available on 23rd July for solid and liquid waste management under Swachh Bharat Mission (Rural) was found to be zero.
Yellow bricks, dust for masonry and low quality materials were being used in the RRC center under construction in the Gram Panchayat. Even after the community toilet was not opened within the stipulated time and the community toilet was not functional, a payment of Rs 48 thousand was made to the caretaker. Instead of the Panchayat Secretariat, an amount of Rs 3.68 lakh has been paid under the Central Finance Commission and Rs 7.31 lakh has been paid under the State Finance Commission. Due to these allegations, suspension action has been taken.
